Blue Rocks and Messengers from God

There were three no’s and one yes.

picDear,

Your letters had more question marks than full stops.
There were three no’s and one yes.
Three no’s and another yes.

Your eyes were like amber stones,
And your words like free birds in the sky.
Your fear was terrifying and stern,
drawing a strength unbeknownst to you,
to grip my hand firmly and turn the other way.
To turn, to let go, and with a last glace,
close the door.

Dreams of mystery came to me at night,
lost in a dark city at nightfall,
I took directions from drunkards to lead me home.

“He already answered you but you chose not to listen”
It as if everyone already knew, but
I chose to cling on to
blue rocks and messengers from God,
unknown letters when the red letters were gone.
